Sunday School

This Christian education ministry is important for helping us to grow as a congregation in our knowledge of the Word of God and Christian doctrine.  Please bring your family and join us beginning at 9:30 each Sunday morning. The new trimester of adult electives will begin next Sunday, June 20. Those electives will be:

An Overview of the Minor Prophets

So often in the Church we pay very little attention to the 12 books that make up the Minor Prophets.  Without context, these books can be difficult to understand, and as a result Christians frequently miss the deep rich truths in this portion of scripture.  This class will not be an in depth study of these books, but rather a historical overview of the group.  We will study them in historical order from the latter days of the kingdom through the post-exilic times.  In this class, we will seek to place context around each of these books to aid in future in depth study.  In doing this, though, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of the Character of God as He reveals Himself through His prophets. We will see highlighted God sovereignty, His holiness, and His love for his people.

Rejoicing to Glorify God: Pursuing our Chief End through an overview of the Westminster Shorter Catechism

The Shorter Catechism is a concise tool for teaching the Reformed understanding of the Scripture. Question # 1 of the Catechism asks “What is the chief end of man?” with the answer being, “Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.” In this class, we will seek to see how a deeper understanding of doctrine leads us toward the glory of God and our joy in Him.  As Titus 1:9 says, we will seek to “encourage” one another “by sound doctrine.”
