Who is Jesus?
His very name means "salvation". The angel told Joseph, Mary's husband-to-be, "..you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." - Matthew 1:21.
The angel also told Joseph that Mary's son was "conceived of the Holy Spirit." - Matthew 1:20.
He is the Son of God. He was born to die on a cross to save His people from their sins. He was raised to life after 3 days and is at this moment at the right hand of the Father in heaven.
He will come again bodily in all of His glory, not meek and mild and suffering this time, but as a thundering, conquering King who will finally judge the living and the dead and totally destroy the works of the devil.
The bible, from the very first chapter of Genesis to the closing verse in Revelation, speaks of Jesus if not directly by name then by types and shadows. It's all about Him.
In 1 Corinthians 1:13-20, the apostle Paul describes Him in this glorious way:
He is the Savior of His people (verses 13-14):
For He ( Jesus ) rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
He is God, The Creator (verses 15-16)
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.
He is God, The Sustainer ( verse 17 )
He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
He rules in and through the Church ( verses 18)
He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
He is the pride and joy of His Father, peace-maker between God and man ( verses 19-20)
For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.
